Fractional Product Leadership · Automotive

Automotive products don't stall on the idea. They stall on the integrations.

I'm Brandon Boyd, a fractional product leader for automotive companies building integration-heavy products. I turn a dense spec, a dozen integrations, and a room full of stakeholders into a roadmap your team can actually ship.

A typical build
One product. A dozen moving parts.

I get them scoped, sequenced, and shipped, in the right order.

What I Do

From tangled spec to shipped product.

01

Integration Strategy

Which integrations, in what order, scoped how. I review the API specs, map the data flows, and catch the edge cases before they cost you a sprint.

02

Requirements That Ship

I turn a fuzzy vision or a dense spec into requirements your engineers can build and your stakeholders will actually sign off on.

03

Vision & Roadmap

Where the product goes and why. A roadmap that survives contact with reality and keeps every team pulling the same direction.

04

VP-of-Product horsepower by the hour: aligning dev teams, wrangling stakeholders, and the warm intros to the right partners and vendors.

Brandon Boyd, product leader
About

The messy middle is where I live.

I'm Brandon Boyd, a product leader specializing in complex, integration-heavy automotive products. For 15+ years I've taken dense specs, tangled integrations, and misaligned teams and turned them into products that ship, across leading automotive companies and my own startup.

Today I split my time between senior product work at scale and advising an early automotive startup through an integration-heavy build. I take on a small number of fractional clients at a time. Based in Portland, Oregon.

Say Hello

Building something with a lot of moving parts?

Tell me what you're building and where it's getting stuck: the integrations, the requirements, the roadmap, or the team. The first conversation is a working session, not a sales pitch.

Fractional engagements start at just a few hours a week. Booking a small number of new clients now.
